Real Magic

Is there magic in the world? There are those who believe in Black Magic. There are those who believe in miracles. There are those who don't believe in either. I believe in everyday magic. The magic that occurs around us all the time. Far too many of us are too busy to take the time to see it and that is the saddest thing. We must believe in magic once again.

I was at a friends home yesterday and his children were watching a cartoon. The characters were doing amazing and impossible acts. The kind of things that can only been done in movies. They were jumping great heights and throwing fire from their hands. The kind of things that amaze children and are remembered for years. I truly believe that children should have a childhood. They should use their imaginations. But they should be allowed to explore the boundaries of their world. They must be allowed to explore the boundaries of their life, with a watchful eye of an adult. They must learn that violence has consequences. They must understand that life is fragile and death is permanent. They must learn to think for themselves. They must learn to see true evil when they see it, but know that it is rare.

We must teach children pure science, art, and music. They must learn to think for themselves and never be discouraged by an adult. When I was a child I was painting a picture of the sun in "Art" Class. My "Art" teacher scolded me because she said that it was too big and that I would have to draw it again. She did not know me and she did seem to think that I was seeing the Sun from earth. I was using my imagination of what the Sun would look like on another world. I never enjoyed Art Class again. I learned to stay within her expectations. I wonder how many other student's dreams and imaginations she was able to kill.

Another story I heard from a friend, was of a teacher in a "Creative Writing" class who gave his child an "F" for a paper; "because it did not fit the form." I never though you can be creative if you have to fit into a form. It is important for this nation that we don't suppress our children. It is the ones that dream that create the new ideas. Those new ideas are needed to solve the problems that they will inherit from us. Their lack of imagination could doom them and is not the legacy that they should be left when we leave. Our world is their's to lose if we don't allow them to grow to their full potential.

Our children should not be abused by not learning the lessons of life. They must know that actions have consequences and that rules were not created to be broken. As they grow toward adulthood they must understand that life is usually hard and can be unforgiving. When they push too hard against the world, the world pushes back even harder. Parents must once again be parents. If parents don't take care and teach life lessons to their children we will continue to have children who don't respect their parents. If we expect our children to help us as we grow more dependent, then we must take care of them when they need it.

We must respect life and understand that we have put too much trust into the hands of people who have no respect for life. Why would we so willingly turn our healthcare over to people who are so willing to end the life of children before they are born. They see life as a choice and life as a bundle of inviable tissue. I see it as magic. For the real magic in this world are our children and look in their eyes as they explore their world.

The Next Intellectual Purge?

Is there a darkness approaching the human race? I fear that greed and ignorance may lead us into another age of darkness. But the greed I see is not from the so called wealthy, but from the rulers, the poor, and the middle class. Our desires to "have it all" has created a situation in which we now are prepared to once again rob from the rich and give to the poor. Our government now operates under the notion that we must spread the wealth around for "social justice." Of course when they say we, they mean the government. This is an attack not only on the prosperous among us, but it will spread to all intellectuals. History points the way. What is happening now has happened before. The trash heap of world governments is littered with failed attempts at social justice and Socialism. Justice must be blind and applied across everyone if we are to have a civil society. When the government decides who is the winner and who is the loser, there is no justice only total government.

For quite a few years I've watched as our society begins a steady regression. I see much of our educational system turning into indoctrination as various groups work to have their agenda taught or certain items removed from the curriculum. Are our children given the opportunity to think, or are they told what to think? Instead of presenting both sides of arguments are they told only one side? Without critical thinking abilities we have citizens that are easily mislead and don't understand what it means to be free. Too many of our citizen seem to think that freedom means that they are free from responsibility. They also have become dependent on others for everything. America's freedoms are built upon responsibility and shared sacrifice. But it seems that too many think that they are privileged and need only ask and the government, read everyone else, should take away their troubles.

We as a society are dependent on those who have the abilities to lead and create the things that we need. These engineers and entrepreneur are the engines that have created the prosperity that we all enjoy. We do live on the shoulders of giants. But for several years we see more and more people demanding, including our current leadership, that power be centralized, and that all answers come from one source. In the past many as many nations fall into the darkness, they purge anyone and anything that disagrees with the orthodoxy of the time. As political matter become paramount in everyday life, the lives of those governed become more controlled.

As we see with the current Political Correctness in the way that many use it to destroy anyone who disagrees, we see communications in day to day life controlled, and an intrusion of the "thought police" into everyday life. Now we see that it is now allowed to call a person who is implementing Socialist policies and principles, a Socialist. Anyone who disagrees with policies are labeled as "racist" or homophobic, even though the policy has nothing to do with race or sexual orientation. A blatant attempt of using any means to silence opposition to pass through agenda items, not policies and laws that have been well thought out, discussed, and tested. So now we see true grass roots opposition to this dictatorial type of governance. Those leading need to consider the past. History has shown that when leaders intentional divide those who they govern there will be backlashes. If they continues to tighten their grip people will look for other leadership. This division will cause even more division as tyrants attempt to consolidate power by any means.

There is a fear that the Democrats, Anarchist, Progressives, and Socialist are so convinced of their cause that they are corrupting the system to guarantee their hold on power no matter what the governed wish or believe. With the passage of the Health Care I see a darkness falling upon a nation. One party rule that has been manipulated from the beginning for an radical totalitarian agenda. Now we see a massive effort to discredit not the ideas of those who oppose, but the people that oppose through threats, lies, intimidation, and subterfuge. As mankind has moved toward dark times it is the intellectuals who are often blamed. We see it now in the attack on success. Instead of focusing in on those who abuse the system and have gained unfairly, we see attacks on whole groups. Success is attacked and those that have been successful are told that they are not paying their fair share. With this kind of thinking we are doomed. Those who know how to honestly succeed and make money are the ones who create the jobs and prosperity. Those with the drive and the intellect make for a health society. Those who do not have the ability to create jobs are dependent upon those who do.

Without the intellectuals in the private sector, motivated and willing to take the risks required, we will fall deeper into this pit of despair. When desperation become too much to handle, people will reach out to whatever seems to be the best answer at the time. This is how despots throughout history have gained power and enslaved people. We must stop thinking that it can not happen here. It is already happening. The darkness is rising and only the light of truth can show it. Now we have not only an attack on those who create prosperity and the intellectual entrepreneurs who have built the devices that make our everyday life better. Without this type of thought being encouraged: How are we going to solve some of the hard problems facing the world? Who can we depend on? We must stop the attacks on prosperity and understand that for use all to prosper, some must succeed and fail. If no one prospers then we all fail. We must respect intellect and not fear it. We can not purge our society of success to punish them, since it will not reward anyone in the end.

Are We Ready for 2012?

The Mayan calender ends on December 21, 2012. It is not hard to find predictions of doom in the media and across the web for this date. This upcoming event has even inspired at least one major motion picture. No one knows exactly what will happen on this date, other than the winter solstice and the shortest day of the year. But there are many predictions of the end of the world, the second coming of Christ, that the poles will shift, or some other major calamity. Fears will heightened as the date approaches and many will be looking for signs of the end.

Besides the Mayan calendar ending there are also various predictions from sources throughout history, according to the doom sayers. This is doing nothing more than raising trepidation among many of the peoples of the world. With the attention the date 12/21/2012 has garnered it may be time for some other preparations. Within the current Administration are those who are more than willing to take advantage of us in times of crisis. These are individuals that may be willing to exacerbate the crisis just to enact their agenda. In a time of panic people look for leadership that is calm, cool, and collected. Even if there is no crisis, it would be easy to convince people that there is one coming, considering all of the predictions currently making there way onto the cable channels.

We've seen with the recent passage of the so called Healthcare Reform Law, that our leaders are not concerned about anything except extending their power over the citizen of this country. Their arrogant stance, that they know better then anyone else, makes me worry for their reactions or what they have planned for 2012. I'm sure that there will be a lot of hand wringing and concern over the next 2 years as the faithful day approaches, but there is no real reason that society as a whole will breakdown. We must be vigilant and watch our leaders with great care. As a free people it is our responsibility to help keep the peace and not allow a totalitarian leadership use this building fear to further enslave us.

We can not afford to be fatalistic and allow someone else to take control of our lives. We must face the fact that if the world does end on 12/21/2012 or at the very least that there is a major cataclysm, we will survive better if we work together as free people and not let a bunch of power hungry tyrants rob us of all that we have can be. There have been predictions throughout man's history of bad things. We can not let this prediction become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

The more that we believe that something will happen the more likely that a man-made event will occur. I believe that the faithful will either spend their time in prayer or quiet contemplation. There are going to be those on the edge that may do insane acts, but this should be rare. Many on the left who have no faith in a higher being or very little may be the most dangerous. With no moral compass their propensity for violent act may be greater. There will also be those from the radical religious sects that may lash out at the world when there is a crisis or trying to create one. Either way the sane people as a whole must look out for those who are willing to do damage. For I predict that the Sun will rise on the 22nd of December 2012 the same as it rose on the 21st. Well that is my hope.

The Coming Insurrection?

Will we see the type of riots that are occurring in Greece in our country? With the number of government workers expanding, private sector jobs shrinking, fewer people paying taxes, and more on government assistance it is just a matter of time before the system will fail. The government continues to borrow and print money beyond any reasonable levels. The progressive and liberal movements are full of young, poorly educated, uninformed, and proven violent radicals. As displayed all the time.

There is no history of violence in the current 9/12 and Tea Party movements. Small incidence on either side don't count, since it would be easy to blame either side when it was staged. The recent townhall events may have been loud, but that is not the same as rolling cars, burning buildings, and throwing bricks as has been seen in many left wing demonstration. But we as a people can not fall for a Reichstag fire hoax. With the constant lies that are being spread by our elected officials, I have no faith in them. I fear the Progressives may soon become tired of waiting for the violence to start and commit an act to blame on those who oppose their fascist agenda. I can only hope that my fears will not be realized.

The current elected officials have shown that they are not concerned with peace, civility, the Constitution, the law, or the will of the people. It seems that they see no bounds to their power. Their actions show that they are willing to go to any lengths to pass their agenda. This is a very bad sign for our nation and republic. We now live under the tyranny of the minority.

So will there be fighting in the streets? I hope not. But we must be vigilante of those on the left. The Progressive Left wing media is hoping for it. They also have an agenda that they have been pushing and have worked hard to discredit anyone who has exposed it. Notice the pattern. They personally attack anyone who uses their words against them. They equate the exposure of a person's beliefs as a personal attack. If beliefs where within the mainstream of public thinking then it would not be seen unusual. But when you expose someone and their radical ideas and are attacked, it is time to look at the attacker. We must not fight back and defeat these radicals in the arena of ideas. If we don't we could find ourselves under the rule of radicals with no bounds.

We must not allow the majority to be shouted down by those who would do us harm. They've lied about us, called us names, ridiculed, and denied us for too long. We must work to retake the discussion and shout down those who would enslave us to half baked ideas and historically proven failed systems. This is a fight for our future. We must take it to the ballot boxes and our town halls. Our voices must be heard before they are taken away.
